RAY-LITE Industries, Inc.

History

RAY-LITE Glass, now RAY-LITE Industries, began with an immigrant from Norway named Arne Anderson who founded the company in 1939. Arne Anderson became a citizen of the United States shortly thereafter and launched what was known as the only manufacturing plant in the Western  United States which produced blown glass street lighting globes among many other custom designed products. His sons, Robert and Neal , have continued their father’s company with sales and marketing offices in Southern California.

RAY-LITE Glass, Inc. continued to be a niche street lighting globe manufacturer that provided municipalities nationwide throughout the next 6 decades with products that achieve exceptional illumination, superior life rating for economic value, while combining with a traditional antique value.

The Department of Water and Power and the City of Los Angeles are among the first customers who helped start RAY-LITE Glass and continue to rely on several traditional designs to maintain illumination along much of the Southern California coastal areas. Customers refer to RAY-LITE’s products as durable, practically free from internal stains, high in light transmission efficiency, economical and practical from a maintenance standpoint.

Christopher Tammen is now the third generation co-owner and brings with him over twenty years of lighting and business management experience.

At the turn of the century (Millennium”2000″) RAY-LITE Industries, with the vision of Christopher Tammen, began to incorporate wholesale lighting distribution, energy management services, combining other related manufacturers to the product offering, design/engineering of lighting applications, and turn-key commissioning of lighting upgrades. These new avenues and services coupled with consumer E-commerce is sure to usher RAY-LITE Industries into the new modern business world.

Lona Anderson

Lona Anderson has been involved with RAY-LITE since 1973 and served as the Sectary of the Board. She has been a pivotal member of the company and to this day is still actively helping the company with multiple tasks. Most recently she inspired and help create the new RAY-LITE Industries, Inc. “Sun” Logo. Lona believes that the “Sun” is symbolic of our long standing relationship in the lighting industry (Since 1939) and also signifies respect for our natural resources, energy efficacy and quality lighting.

Present Day

Even though RAY-LITE has hundreds of manufacturers at their disposal to partner with, the overriding philosophy of the company is to be selective, using quality and consistent products that have a proven reputation.

RAY-LITE’s e-commerce solution, myLEDlite.com, is a predominantly broad selection of Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting solutions. It also boasts a wide variety of popular lighting items and electrical essentials which makes shopping easy. The deliberate choice to focus on LED products was made to make our customers experience a productive and time-saving, low-cost transaction.

Thank you in advance for trusting RAY-LITE with your lighting needs. Our vision is to be “THE” provider of leading edge lighting products, superior service, and to improve every customer’s environment with an excellent return on their investments.
